This restaurant is a really good deal. Especially with a coupon and for takeout, they have the best tiramisu!!!

Just had to add a review in regard to rehersal dinners or group parties. I recently attended a rehersal dinner for a wedding at this Buca and was incredibly impressed. The table was set up in a U shape, encouraging conversation, the food blew me out of the water and the servers were fun and helpful. I strongly suggest this for a big group activity!

Buca was always where we went for high school dances, or for neighborhood block parties. So, last week for nostalgia purposes we got a take out order for another neighborhood get together (even though the food has never been 5 star worthy in my opinion) We called for a takeout order including chicken, salad, and ravioli. Pretty simple. We were told it would take about 45 minutes, so we showed up an hour later. We get there, and our order is not ready, but that they would bring it "right out" to the car. We are sitting in the car waiting and about 20-25 minutes go by. I go inside to check on our order, turns out they either forgot to put it in or accidentally gave it to somebody else. I said that because of my anger and how already late I was to the party to just forget it, and asked for a refund. They said the food was almost ready...and offered me a discount on my next order. As the manager was shuffling through a box of unorganized coupons of 15% off our next meal, I told him to forget it. I wouldn't be back anyway. So I went back to my car and was ready to get out of there and go get food from someplace else. As I was getting ready to reverse my car and leave, the manager came out with the food and said that he would give a full refund for my meal (100$ worth) He never did. Thanks for nothing (except heartburn) Buca. PS. We asked for no meat on the Ravioli. It had meat in it.

The Poor Bartender also has a bunch of tables to wait. So...really no attention being paid to anyone in the bar. I ordered dinner, and he brought me bread...After 30 min. The management looking folks seem pretty relaxed.....should be helping this poor guy!

Maybe I'm crazy, but the pasta tastes like a Banquet meal. A Stouffers one beats this place. The garlic bread was the best thing on the table. All the pasta was overcooked. All the sauces were bland. We had gnocci and a spaghetti with marinara on the table. I was so disappointed. I guess they are getting 2 stars because the waiter was so personable and polite. We travel to Minneapolis a few times a year, and will steer clear of this one.

Buca di Beppo in Eden Prairie catered my wedding for about 150 people in August. They were such a pleasure to work with. Sally, who handles the catering orders, was extremely friendly and very quick to respond to my emails and phone calls. I was living in Arizona during the majority of the wedding planning process, and she was very flexible and eased all of my worries. She respected that my husband and I were on a budget and worked with us to create a menu that would suit us and our guests. When we were visiting Minnesota for a few days, she set up a meeting with us for a tasting and to go over the catering order. She was able to fit this into her schedule, which was great. We were able to come in another time before the wedding, after we had moved back, to go over the final numbers. The servers arrived on time and set everything up very nicely at the reception. The food was great and stayed warm. The servers were very friendly and personable. They even hauled away the trash from the reception, after they cleaned up from the dinner service. I am so happy that we went with Buca for our catering. It was extremely affordable for serving so many people, and it was something different, but everyone really enjoyed it.

We have eaten in many Buca locations in several states and been very happy; however, today we tried Buca To-Go for the first time.. Needless to say we were very unhappy once we got the order home, It took me 9 minutes to get home. The small pizza Con Formagio was room temperature. The Italian sausages were red in the center - obviously undercooked. The small cheese Manicotti was over cooked, dry, cold with sauce poured over it. The small chopped antipasto salad had been put in the bag with all the "so called" hot food and was room temperature. The quality was poor and very over priced for what we received . We will NEVER order take out from Buca again. The product should be the same quality as what is served in the restaurant. Fast food would have been better!

We had lunch here today. We generally only come to Buca for lunch because we're only a party of 2, and their family style plates don't work well for us. Anyway, lunch was great! Ravioli was delicious and soooo filling, BF had the chicken parm and says it was cooked well. BF also ordered the obligatory meatball as he always does, and enjoyed it as usual. I took off a star because everything is EXTRA here. They asked if I wanted meat sauce or marinara, I said meat sauce, and it turns out the meat sauce is 3 bucks EXTRA. If I would've known that, I would've passed. It took my $7.99 lunch to $10.99 and that's definitely not what I was looking for.

Some of the best garlic bread I've ever had, with real pieces of garlic on it. Their cheesecake is also surprisingly good.

I have dined here several times. Once of my own volition, and 3-4 times through work events. My personal experience was unimpressive....the fettuccine was extremely dry and almost crusty. The salad was good enough but nothing special (I prefer Olive Garden's) and the stuffed mushrooms were yummy, but kind of greasy. When we've gotten catering through work the marinara sauce was also dried out and too chunky to be "sauce" (more like a salsa honestly) and the fish pasta absolutely reeked. The décor is cute, I guess, but gets tiring after an hour of staring at the mashup of family photos and gaudily-painted statuettes. I do not feel like the quality of ingredients is very high given how they are treated. I have made my own pasta sauces at home that surpass these in terms of taste, consistency, and composition. I'm going to avoid this place from now on.

I love bread baskets. I know that whenever I go into restaurants with bread that they immediately profile me as "that guy who is going to keep asking for more bread" and unfortunately I am 100% that guy. It's not even that I'm trying to pay less for my meal, I just really love hot-fresh bread. Buca has bread baskets. So it gets a major plus for that. However, if you happen to be eating out with one other person and you have different taste preferences the "family style" servings are hugely excessive for each individual (not to mention, costly) and you can easily pay $40 or more for two people WITHOUT drinks, appetizers, or dessert. Fortunately, they circulate coupons frequently (especially if you're signed up to their online mailing list) and worst case scenario you pay $40 and have food for the next week...ish.

I was driving around looking for a place for Pizza, and saw this little place hiding in the corner. The sign said "Italian" so I had to check it out. First of all, you have to check out this place just because of the decor; in fact, even if the food was awful, I would still say you should check it out. The staff is excellent and I honestly can say I have never seen a greater effort of teamwork in any other restaurant as it was clear that they all seemed eager to make sure my needs were met. I thought the Pizza was very flavorful and they even helped with a request for Green Olives added to the pizza even though it was not listed as an option. I would go again for sure.

This place is amazing, I went there with my swim team (WEST express) the only concern that I have is that if you are going to go here. For god sakes, go with a group!!! Buca people, if you are reading this, make your portion sizes smaller so that people can go on a date and be able to eat without worrying about how much leftovers you will have

I wanted this to be much better than it was. Our server never came to our table, and after half an hour of waiting to get water, I finally went to another server to ask for assistance. We split the antipasta salad and there was complimentary bread as well. Two people in our group had special dietary needs: gluten free and dairy free. We ordered the salad with the cheese on the side, not a problem. After consulting with the manager on our options, We ordered chicken baked in lemon butter sauce and subbed in olive oil to replace the butter. When we got our food, it was baked in butter lemon sauce. Our server took care of getting it replaced quickly, but that meant a member of our party went without eating for almost the whole time during the main meal. I thing that the rest of our group was happy, but I would not recommend coming here if you have any dietary restrictions. Since it is family style, everyone is forced to order what you need. Also, they have a gluten free menu, but there are zero pasta options on it. Disappointing.

If I want Italian in EP, it's either Buca or Biaggi's. I think Buca has some good, safe choices. I can't recall one thing I ever had there that I didn't like. Pastas, pizzas, sides, it's all good!

They have valet parking now. Be sure to tip the guy well if it's bad weather outside. And get the mozzarella garlic bread. Yummy. Skip the veal Marsala. Opt for the veal parm or chicken Marsala. Ordering mistake on our part. Try that garlic bread. Yummy!

Our 4th annual Christmas Eve dinner at Buca was a complete flop this year. Reservations for 6:00, seated at 6:35. Placed order at 6:50, served at 7:30. Pasta was both cold and hot in places and some of the pasta with no sauce. Waitress removed it from the bill. Ordered a martini, watered down and very small amount. The restaurant was extremely crowded and loud. This will be our last time at Buca.

My family and I had the worst experience at Buca in Eden Prairie lastnight. The waiter had to be the most rudest, abrupt server ever. When he came to the table he was very awkward, didn't even talk to us, come back to check on our food, or even give us our bill, someone else brought the check to us. When he refilled our water glasses he literally pointed at a glass. It was also a very long time before anyone brought us bread. When the food was brought out it was cold. Made us feel very awkward. Won't be returning to this location.

Of all the memories I have of eating at restaurants, this specific Buca di Beppo is near the top of both my "best" and "worst" lists. BEST I have always enjoyed how Buca serves its dishes family-style. So, when I've eaten here in large groups, it's always been enjoyable trying a bunch of different dishes. (In other restaurants, when I eat from other people's dishes, I always feel like I'm intruding on someone's personal property haha.) The eating atmosphere is what makes Buca unique. Everything from the "Pope Room" for large groups (complete with a bust of the Pope at the center of the table's Lazy Susan) to the Kitchen Table (reserved in advance, you can eat in perfect view of the chefs making all the dishes) to the funky decorations (my favorite is still the strategically-placed light switch cover in the men's bathroom depicting the Statue of David), there's always something fun to look at. For the food you get, the prices aren't bad, and if you subscribe to the Buca email list, you can often get coupons sent to you. I've also found other coupons online and in home mailings. The staff can be accommodating when it wants to be. For instance, I wanted to reserve the Kitchen Table for a certain night for a dinner for two. Technically, they weren't supposed to release it to me (it is usually reserved for bigger groups), but they were kind enough to make an exception for me. WORST My worst experience at Buca di Beppo was also my last one (a couple of years ago). Since then, I've been literally afraid to go back. I went with my sister, and we had an incredibly rude waitress who didn't try to hide her annoyance of the fact that we arrived at the restaurant towards the end of her shift and was thus keeping her from going home. I remember that we ordered an appetizer that came with a side dish of marinara. When our waitress came to take our empty appetizer dish away, there was still some marinara sauce left over, so we asked if we could keep the marinara sauce on the table to use for dipping for our garlic bread in. Our waitress allowed us to do so, but she also gave us a dirty look when walking away. Perhaps you can argue that we were being "cheap" in wanting to savor the rest of the marinara sauce, but I still can't believe how outwardly rude our waitress was. She was also visibly disgusted when we asked to pack our own leftovers instead of having her pack it for us. We used a coupon to get a discount on the meal, and upon leaving we wanted to see if we could use another coupon for dessert. Stopping by the take-out counter, we asked if we could use the second coupon, and the take-out employee immediately grabbed the restaurant manager who started asking us what the "problem" was and whether he needed to grab our waitress to address it. Not wanting to cause any more trouble, we both left the restaurant with the understanding that Buca management would much rather keep close tabs on customers not breaking the rules than respectfully addressing customer concerns/requests.

Had a wonderful experience at this location a few days ago. The manager and wait staff were very friendly and were extremely helpful when discussing menu options. Great food, great service and great experience. Will definitely be back if I'm back in the area!

Long ago I like Buca, now I am less enchanted (maybe more discerning). Took my parents and my family out to supper for their birthdays. Lack luster display by the serving staff on attentiveness and the place was nearly empty. Paid a lot for sharing plates family style and they don't even give a free sundae for a birthday. I won't be back.

Very disappointed. I used to be a big fan of Buca, but after today, may never be back. The food used to be excellent, but over the years it has slowly gone down, but some of the old favorites were still very good. Well today we went and got the mashed potatoes like we always do (they have been a favorite of ours for years) - they have changed the recipe. They are TERRIBLE. We asked our waiter if they changed the recipe and he did acknowledge that, yes, they had and that there have been other complaints. He said he would tell the manager of our issue with them, but the manager never came and they never even offered to take them off the bill. I do not understand the logic of going from a recipe that worked and was popular to what they gave us today. They were the worst mashed potatoes I have ever had in any restaurant. I didn't eat them, not worth it. And I LOVE mashed potatoes. So disappointed. The person who made that decision must have no tastebuds or thinks their regular customers will keep coming no matter what they change. They better rethink why they are doing and stop cheaping out. I really can't get over how they could ruin something that was so good in such a huge way. Absolute fail here Buca.

I went here for dinner on Thanksgiving, and I'm very disappointed. To begin with, our service was not good. We had to ask two different people before we received a basket of cold bread. I ordered a glass of wine I had to ask for again when we received our meal because our server never came back. We ordered a salad and a pasta and had barely placed our had on the spoon for the salad when they brought our pasta. We were only given one bread plate we had to share. Now even with all of these things I didn't complain because the food was good and everyone was polite. I excused the problems for it being a busy holiday and perhaps our server was overwhelmed. What inspired me to write this review is the fact that later when I checked my bank statement I noticed I was double charged. I then called and spoke to the general manager who said she was too busy to help me because there were some large parties coming in. She said she would call me back. And she didn't. So I called again. The next manager apologized but again said she would have to call back. I still have not heard from them. This is absolutely unacceptable to me. I do not recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I dined at Buca di Beppo last night to celebrate a little extra cash flow. We hadn't been here in two years, but it was much as I had remembered it: loud, fun atmosphere; good service; huge quantities of delicious food. We think one of the best thing about eating at Buca is having lots of leftovers, so we ordered a Small Prosciutto-Stuffed Chicken and a Large Quattro di Forno... we were a little surprised when the plates came out that they were the same size, but we weren't sure how big the large pasta was supposed to be, so we didn't say anything. However, our waiter (Thom) took one look at the plates on the table (someone else had brought them out) and said, "Is that...? They gave you a Small instead of a Large. I am so sorry." He immediately had the kitchen cook the missing pieces of pasta, and only charged us for a Small. I know it sounds like a minor kindness, but Thom had no incentive to go out of his way and make the situation right except for pure, simple integrity. We weren't going to say anything. But the fact that he did that for us makes us feel like we'll be in good hands next time we come to Buca (which will probably be sooner rather than later).

Giving two stars only because of a couple kind-of-okay meals in the past when I would attend work dinners or Buca had been selected to cater for the same. By and large, though, this Buca's meals have been, over a 10+ year span, either not good or not memorable. However, on Saturday, April 26, 2014, a friend and I stopped in for a beer and appetizers and to watch the Wild playoff game. Beer was fine, though too spendy but the mozzarella garlic bread was the worst he or I had ever had. My friend could hardly finish the first slice and could not eat a second as the garlic was completely raw; I mean RAW to the point it burned the mouth. It was actually inedible. In reading other reviews, I see more than one person rave about this menu offering and must therefore assume either theirs or mine was a fluke. Whichever it may be, when all is said and done, having experienced this dining mistake on multiple occaisions for over a decade, I can only recommend avoiding Buca di Beppo and would that the McDonalds previously occupying the space were still there.

I just attended a rehearsal dinner at this Buca two weeks ago and I was impressed! Rehearsal dinners can be so awkward and rushed with events and things on the agenda. This Buca met all of our needs! The food was brought quickly, at the right tempetures and plenty of it! The servers were prompt and very friendly. Plus, you can't go wrong with a (well made!!) tiramisu for dessert! Top notch.

First, I found it awkward to walk through the kitchen. I understand the point, but I just thought it was weird....but my emphasis is always on service and value. The service here is great....albeit a little bit over-friendly. But better too much than not enough. Our server was really good. We split the small lasagna, and it was really really good. Reminded me of my mom's cooking. I liked the split entree style ordering system. Very homestyle. And plenty of food for two. It was rather loud in there, but they specialize in parties, birthday, rehearsal dinners, etc. It was kind of frustrating to hear the birthday song they sing at top volume like 4 times in a sitting. For food and service, 4 stars. For atmosphere (date) 3 stars, if you bring a party here, probably 5 stars because everyone was having a lot of fun !

Bucas is always good. Don't go alone. The small portions are meant to serve 2 people and that is what we did. We got the small Quatro Forno and it was perfect for two with lots of different choices to try stuff. We also got a mashed potatoes... not what I would normally think of for Italian, but they were hot and chock full of garlic so definitely worth a bite.

We went to Buca in Eden Prairie for the first time last night. After we left we were wondering why we had been living in Eden Prairie for so long without visiting Buca before. The food was very enjoyable, the pasta had a wonderful al dente texture. I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli and it was phenomenal, the pasta wasn't mushy as often raviolis can be. The prices were great for the quality of the food we had. Rob was our server and he was really friendly, but not overbearing. He definately enhanced our visit. I really liked the idea of sharing large plates with the whole table and am looking forward to going back for a nice leisurely meal with a big group of friends soon.

It's an Italian chain. What can you expect. I've been to Buca's in 3 cities including Philly and this one is similar. It's kitschy decor is pretty standard. I found the whole entry through the kitchen mystifying as there was no hostess around and at first we thought we'd used the wrong entrance but there were 2 statuettes covered in Christmas lights at the door which made us think we were in the right place after all. The dining area is adjacent and you walk through the kitchen to get there. It would be cool if it did not look so run down and shabby. However this one smelled musty and was not as nice as some other ones I've visited. The decor was fine - garish and over the top as usual with men looking down women's dresses in photographs and fat ladies dancing. There was the usual Pope's table. But the charm and newness of the decor has worn away after visiting other locations and we tried not to focus on the unappetizing smell. They certainly need better ventilation as the smell of marinara and grease seems to have seeped into the drapery. This place is great for larger groups as every entree is portion sized for at least 6 people or more. It's bit of a challenge to order for 2 in here and though we split an entree (Pesto Pasta) we still had left overs for a full meal for 2 next day. It tasted ok, a little too cheesy and greasy but no different from other locations. We could not find a dessert that was small enough for 2 so the server brought us a scoop of ice-cream as a side dish. This is the perfect place to take large and noisy groups when you don't care much about the food except that there is enough and it's generally palatable. We may go back with friends as it's a good experience for those who've never been there and if you order pitchers of sangria it can bring out some great conversation.

Is Buca di Beppo not the most fun restaurant name to say in the entire world?! Hint: it is. I've been into many Buca locations and the ones where you walk directly into the kitchen always throw me for a loop. It's a gimmick that I'm not really a fan of, but eh, what are ya gonna do? It's different. If you go at a high volume time, it feels INCREDIBLY chaotic. It's loud and everybody seems to be moving. The staff seems infinite. The bar/waiting area at this particular location is small and cramped and service at the bar itself is just average. The food is, in my honest opinion, terrific. Chicken parmigiana is tender. The ravioli is large and full. The garlic mashed potatoes are SO good, but VERY buttery. Buca's salads are delicious and if you like tiramisu... you know what to have for dessert! It's amongst the best I've encountered. I've only ever had great service. Our most recent excursion was no exception. We had a big group (think 20+) and neither my beer nor my water were ever empty without a refill being in place. Here's a little nugget that you'll want to take interest in: parking at this Buca really, really stinks. Their lot isn't terribly small, but if you go when it's busy you will be doing a little walking from outside the lot. They offer complimentary valet service, but we were told last night that even that was full-up. That's not cool, Buca. When we left, we found cars parked, honestly, a quarter mile or so down the road. What the F-word. All in all, Buca's pretty dang good. A step above the regular national chain restaurants and a little below a fancy dining experience. I dig it.

So, you're trapped in suburban hell, looking for a good place to eat. That's a pretty grim situation as suburbia is full of your standard national chain restaurants. Of course, Buca is here as well and well....here we are. Last time I ate at this place was in high school for a school dance. I've had Buca a few times in my life and it's always been a good experience. The food is good, the family style is nice, the prices are decent I suppose for Italian food. This meal was no different from any other I've had here, everything tasted good, service was prompt, and the waitress was very good. Buca isn't bad for a chain restaurant but I've had better Italian before. Altogether our table came out to be about $20.00 per head not including tip for ordering a salad, two entrees, and a pasta dish. Is Buca the best restaurant out there? Absolutely not. It's definitely a step up from the Olive Garden......but that ain't saying much.

Placed an order (for my elderly parents) for Buca through diningin.com ...who completely dropped the ball and didn't deliver the order. We got on the phone directly to the restaurant - they immediately turned the order around and got it delivered. Patrick really nailed it. And my parents reported the dinner was excellent!

Let me start off by saying ALL of my reviews are 100% truthful and while sometimes the truth can and will hurt...the truth also can be a good thing and needs to be told so people understand just what happen in clear detail. So,This was the 2nd time EVER at a Buca Di Peppo restaurant, the 1st time was 8 years ago when I had come to Minnesota for a funeral,on that night my family along with 15 other members of my immediate family at a different Buca and did not have the best experience some food was great and other food veey bad, Now on vacation 8 years later I decided to take my wife 2 kids my cousin and her 3 kids out to eat yesterday 07-20-2015 for a treat and to give this place another try.....that was not a good idea :-( and after 125.00 and unhappy family I don't know if I would ever ever eat here again, First off we arrived at 1pm the place has 1 table occupied and was a ghost town, that should have been the clue to leave.... we were sat down within a few minutes and our server came over and did not introduce herself she had just asked how we were and what we would like to drink, we ordered drinks and mozzarella cheese garlic bread along with house bread and our sodas and it took a little bit for the bread to come out again we are the only table in the restaurant...she did take our order and finally thw bread came out and I was not happy by ehat was supposed to be a LARGE order of bread was I believe 10 small pieces with hardly any cheese at all and not very good. Our food came out and when it did my wifes Shrimp fra diavolo had maybe 5 shrimp and hardly any sauce my chicken parmigiano was VERY VERY soggy and not cooked very well and to top it off I found a long brown hair in my mashed potatoes :-( the server did take them back and got new ones but the new ones were not very hot and not cooked well....my cousins aon was about the only person who got a decent meal witg his lasagna...And then we come to my son and daughter who were sharing a small pepperoni pizza together....The pizza came out and looked pretty good however there was way to much saice and the pepperoni was not put on the pizza it correct it looked just thrown into a few spots and into the oven and was EXTREMELY greasy...I do understand pizza can will be and is a little greasy however it was terrible...it was so bad my daughter son and cousins son were dabbing the grease off with many napkins and my daughter sripped several big spots of grease on her almost new sun dress she was very upset and cried and the waitress did bring over some club soda however grease like this will not come all the way out.... :-( Then for my cousins meal she got the chicken marsala she also said it was very sweet and was ok but tasted a little off...and her sons kids pizza was just like the big pizza very greasy and too much sauce..we had several leftovers and left not very happy at all and nothing was taken off the bill and I didn't really feel comfortable asking for a manager and having nyself be embarrassed in front of everyone...I did try to call yesterday to talk to a manager and was not successful so I will try again tonight. .even though I do not live here and this was for vacation I feel people have to know and hopefully management will do something ao I don't leave Minnesota again not happy with Buca Di Peppo. ... * UPDATE* I did actually get to speak with the Assistant Manager just now 7/21/2015 8:34pm his name is Lamin and said Scott the main manager would call me to help somehow* I will update my post with if anything the manager does to help us.....***********UPDATE AS OF AUGUST 18,2015 I'VE NOT ONCE BEEN CONTACTED BY ANYONE AT ALL ANF TRIED A COUPLE OF TIMES TO LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR A MANAGER******** I'M EXTREMELY UNHAPPY...I HOPE NO ONE TAKES THERE BUSINESS TO THIS RESTAURANT YOU WILL BE LET DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY!!!!! $$ WASTED.... VERY UPSET I WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE SRARS.......MY NEXT CALL WILL BE TO THE BBB BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND FILE A COMPLAINT. ..COMPANIES DON'T CARE ABOUT THE LITTLE PERSON ANYMORE!!! THEY JUST WANT $$$$$ :-(

Buca is usually on par. I haven't ever had any problems figuring out what to eat at all either. My boyfriend and I have been here only twice before, this location, and the one in Maple Grove. I have to say the one in Maple Grove gives you a better experience! When they take you through the kitchen, it seems more clean, and more respectful. This location is somewhat weird about it. you actually wait for your table IN the kitchen. It just seems weird, plus the staff is going in and out having their own conversations. It is a very awkward situation, actually. So based on experience (of walking in the door and getting a table) I'd give it two stars. The food is great, though. I'm not a HUGE Italian fan, but it is good to eat it every once in a while. I love their garlic bread, and Caesar salad. That salad is delicious. I'm not sure why, I think it is their dressing, and with fresh squeezed lemon...Yum! You will always leave with leftovers, and they don't actually hold that well into the next afternoon. We got some pasta sampler thing. I don't know the name of it, but it came with four different stuffed pasta, enough for two people. It was OK. I wasn't too happy with it, but everything else seemed to hold me over so I didn't leave hungry at all or anything. The place is good, not great, but not bad!

My daughter picks this place every year for her birthday. It's a great spot for any family outing. Don't get sucked into over ordering too much food which can easily happen. For chain Italian for I think this is a good stop. The wait staff is usually underwhelming but everything else it great!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
